Hitman: The Agency Screenplay (Part 10)
by: Anson Fehross | February 7, 2004

The Hitman stands and walks away, moving toward a fuel dump. McInnery frowns and starts to get up.

EXT. THE FUEL DUMP- NIGHT

The Hitman moves out of McInnery's view, in a section of the industrial area. In the center of this area sits a large concrete pool filled with petrol.

Lobo walks into view on the opposite side of the pool, hair covering his face, his Glock in hand. His dangling left arm trickles blood.

The Hitman stares coldly at Lobo, his steel-gray eyes watching Lobo's every movement. Around forty feet separate the pair.

Without words the pair slowly circle the pool, arms at their sides.

RAIN FALLS as if the sky has opened. Only RAIN is heard.

Lobo raises his pistol.

The Hitman does likewise.

The pair FIRE.

The pair miss, catching their spent cartridges.

Lobo rushes at the Hitman, who stands near the edge of the pool. He FIRES as he runs, the Hitman twisting himself, avoiding the bullets. Finally he painfully runs at Lobo.

Lobo and the Hitman leap at each other across the pool, tossing their guns aside. They clash in mid-air before falling into the deep pool.

CUT TO:

INSIDE THE POOL

The Hitman and Lobo grapple in the petrol. Lobo twists the Hitman's left arm around and unsheathes his knife with his wounded left hand. He moves in quickly but the Hitman manages to flail his arm back, elbowing Lobo's injured arm.

Lobo visiably sucks in petrol as his breath is sucked out of him from the sudden pain. He drops his knife.

The Hitman, now freed, turns to unleash a powerful punch to the head. Lobo is momentarily incapacitated, holding his head.

The Hitman propels himself to grab the knife but Lobo grabs his leg. The Hitman kicks back but Lobo immediately jabs the stab wound. The Hitman's kicking stops and Lobo yanks the Hitman toward him, delivering a hearty head butt.

The Hitman COUGHS BLOOD, clouding the petrol further. Lobo takes the opportunity to swim up.

EXT. THE FUEL DUMP- NIGHT

Lobo BURSTS from under the petrol and GASPS for air. He coughs up the petrol immediately. He glances down to see the Hitman moving up under him.

INSIDE THE POOL

Lobo's right leg kicks the Hitman in the neck, stopping his ascent. Immediately Lobo's arms shoot down and grab the Hitman tightly.

The Hitman struggles desperately, needing air but Lobo's grip is too strong, clasping his arms behind him in such a way that he cannot wriggle free. His legs kick desperately.

EXT. THE FUEL DUMP- NIGHT

McInnery steps into view, watching Lobo's head bob violently under the thrashing torrent of petrol. The Hitman cannot be seen.

McInnery smiles and crouches down, setting up his shot. Lobo still struggles without noticing McInnery.

McInnery aims down his rifle.

INSIDE THE POOL

Suddenly we hear a MUFFLED SHOT and the Hitman's arms are freed, Lobo crashing back into the petrol, sinking down, leaving a blood trail from his now gaping neck.

The Hitman swims up.

EXT. THE FUEL DUMP- NIGHT

The Hitman BURSTS from under the fuel, his eyes now blood-red. He BREATHES heavily, noticing McInnery standing over him, his rifle primed.

MCINNERY

I'm impressed 47... a lesser 'man' would have drowned.

The Hitman pulls himself from under the petrol to sitting on the edge of the pool, still regaining his composure.
