The Hitman gets to his feet and climbs on top of the nearest shelf. He runs across the shelf as Lobo chases below. He jumps from one shelf to the other, Lobo moving along in pursuit.
The Hitman runs fleet footedly, balancing on the narrow shelves. Lobo FIRES again, and the Hitman dives from the shelf to another...
The Hitman spins and leaps of the shelf, FIRING as he does so, his arms stretched out. Lobo dives back at the same time, FIRING. The Hitman LANDS on his stomach before rolling while continuing FIRING. Lobo rolls in turn, FIRING.
The Hitman rolls up into a run, and moves to a shelf and starts ROCKING it back and forth. It tips over, with the Hitman diving onto it as it tips, using it to start off a chain reaction of shelves collapsing.
Lobo moves out from under the COLLAPSING shelves just as the Hitman dives into view, FIRING. The desert eagle clips run dry, so the Hitman smoothly shoves one of them into his pants, whips out Lobo's Glock and FIRES once before he slides out of view.
The slug SLAMS into Lobo's left hand, blowing CLEAN THROUGH. He GRUNTS in pain before running out of scene.
The Hitman takes the opportunity to dash out of the back room.
INT. GUN STORE- DAY
The Hitman sprint out of the store, where a crowd starts to form.
EXT. THE WASHINGTON STREETS- DAY
The Hitman sprints away.
FADE TO:
INT. THE AGENCY- DAY
The Agenct and the Controller sit with his jacket off, in uncharacteristic sloppiness. McInnery, on the other hand, sits in his full suit, still deathly cool.
The PHONE RINGS. The Agent picks it up immediately.
AGENT
Lobo?
CUT TO:
EXT. A ROOFTOP- DAY
Lobo sits in the shadows, on the phone. He holds his left wrist, staving the blood flow.
LOBO
47 escaped, shot me in the hand. I need some medical before I can pursue.
CUT TO:
INT. THE AGENCY- DAY
AGENT
47 escaped... hold on.
He puts the phone on hold.
AGENT
47's escaped. Again. Lobo's been shot.
McInnery seethes.
MCINNERY
That's it. I've had enough of Lobo's incessant incompetence. Scratch Lobo.
CONTROLLER
Scratch Lobo?
MCINNERY
Are you deaf?
CONTROLLER
No... It just seems excessive to-
MCINNERY
Didn't I TELL you NOT to tell me what the FUCK to do?!
The Controller falls silent.
MCINNERY
Lobo has had too many opportunities. This is not the field in which you get second chances, you understand me? One chance, that's all.
AGENT
How will we be able to find him? He's a needle in a stack of needles.
MCINNERY
Spare me your euphemisms. He's been shot, send him to the scratcher. Dress him up as a damn medic. Goddamn, use your head! Make him a natural scratcher. Clones are nothing but a waste of money, it appears. We don't need more rouges out on the streets.
